They were walking down the area of street they refer to as the LB Gaza Strip, the area in dispute over it's present occupation. The strip of street between His house and Her house, unfortunately with the X in between. So, when she eyes the playing cards with their backs turned up and scattered along the street. She can't help but think they look like shrapnel shells after a game of War.
She plucks a card off the street...Three of Clubs. It fits her. In her mind this card is perfect. She is constantly in search of adventure. She also likes the idea of Two coming together with a third element, perhaps the undertaking of a creative project. This is her time to explore and be creative.
She tells him to pick one.
He grabs one off the street and shows Her, it is the Four of clubs or wands. The Four indicates a sense of harmony and balance as well as completion, and thus symbolizes a time of peace and joy in life that come as the result of often difficult and challenging effort. (His former oppressive situation.) This is his time for celebration and freedom.
She places the Three of Wands, next to Four of Wands on her mantle for full exaltation.
